How to navigate politics) published in 2017, philosopher<strong> Bruno Latour <\/strong>connects ecological, social and democratic crises and takes a fresh look at the territorial transformations needed to maintain the livability of our environments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the Gilets Jaunes crisis, the book \u201c<em>O\u00f9 atterrir?<\/em>\u201d is being turned into an <strong>artistic, scientific and political experiment<\/strong> in an attempt to put an end to the increasingly deaf and dumb dialogue between citizens and administrations. The challenge is both to equip residents to make their concerns audible, and to strengthen institutions so that they are once again able to grasp the descriptions of the world and the initiatives of civil society. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:46%\">\n<figure   aria-label=\"\"  class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"666\" <strong>groups of investigators<\/strong> comprising <strong>residents<\/strong>, <strong>agents <\/strong>and <strong>elected representatives<\/strong>, with the following objectives:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>renew the definition of territory according to attachments, i.e. everything that enables us to subsist and maintain our existence, also known as the \u201cterrain of life\u201d.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>increase the power of action of residents, agents and elected representatives to collectively build tangible solutions to vital day-to-day problems and maintain the region&#8217;s habitability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>revitalize democratic practices and transform public action, so that we can once again build a common world.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section-group\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"pure-g\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"la-transdisciplinarite\">Transdisciplinarity <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-bottom is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<p>The \u201c<em><strong>Where to land?<\/strong><\/em>\u201d experiment is based on its <strong>transdisciplinary dimension<\/strong>, linking the performing arts to scientific methods and cartography, in response to the lack of sensitive equipment needed to activate a process of transformation and to act effectively in the face of the multiple crises linked to the New Climate Regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes paralyzed by denial, despair or renunciation, we are aware of the havoc wreaked by ecological and social disasters, but we remain dumbfounded by the scale of the challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure   aria-label=\"\"  class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/quaidessavoirs.toulouse-metropole.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/01\/23-10-14-festival-Latour-Toulouse-atelier-OA_web-30-2-edited.jpg\" land?<\/em>\u201d approach is to combine:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The sociology of the network actor to conduct field surveys&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artistic practices to express attachments&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mapping to redefine the territory according to dependencies&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This hybridization helps to prepare residents, agents and elected representatives to escape from their state of paralysis, and to cultivate the art of relationships and inquiry, in order to renew their repertoire of actions in the face of new local id=\"les-etapes\">Steps <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"1-mener-l-enquete-sur-le-territoire\"><strong>1<\/strong>. SURVEY THE TERRITORY &nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>\u201c<em>What do you depend on to survive? What do you value and what is threatened  <\/em>?\u201d <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents, agents and elected representatives conduct the survey based on the concerns of the territory, also known as \u201cconcernements\u201d, which they define from their lived experience: what they value, what is threatened with disappearance and for which they would be ready to act. These field surveys, conducted through a scrupulous process of description, are the indispensable key to renewing the notion of territory as \u201cterrain de vie\u201d and taking action. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"2-augmenter-la-puissance-d-agir-collective\"><strong>2<\/strong>. INCREASE THE POWER OF COLLECTIVE ACTION &nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>\u201c Whom are you ready to ally with to take action and maintain your living conditions?\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a compass and several mapping tools, residents, agents and elected representatives identify allies and create collectives of shared interests around the concerns of their living areas, in order to take action. Some concerns are resolved through collective action, while others feed into projects to transform the area and public action. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"3-revitaliser-le-cercle-politique\"><strong>3. <\/strong>REVITALIZING THE POLITICAL CIRCLE&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>\u201cWho can you turn to when it comes to co-constructing public action?\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The experimentation enables us to use our survey work to make ourselves heard in a different way by administrations and institutions. Residents, agents and elected representatives each play a role in the political circle, participating together in the co-construction and transformation of public action. This revitalization of the democratic process renews relations between members of civil society, the research community and government departments.  &nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section-group\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"pure-g\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"porteurs-du-projet\">Project initiators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The arts-sciences collective <strong>Rivage <\/strong>and the<strong>Toulouse Jean Jaur\u00e8s University <\/strong>are piloting the \u201cWhere do we land?&#8221; experiment in Toulouse, bringing together <strong>artists <\/strong>from the Collectif Rivage, <strong>scientists <\/strong>coordinated by Aline Wiame and a group of 22 <strong>citizens <\/strong>from Toulouse-M\u00e9tropole. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These citizen-experts investigate the <strong>subsistence <\/strong>conditions of the territory on which they depend. The workshops draw on artistic practices and research-creation, as well as investigative methods derived from the work of <strong>Bruno Latour<\/strong> (actor-network theory, ecological philosophy), pragmatist philosophy and ecological humanities. Their aim is to bring together the arts, sciences and digital design to overcome the dismay caused by the challenge of ecological transition, and to renew our ability to feel, listen, act and compose a shared world in order to maintain the habitability of our living territories.  &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<p>The <strong>Quai des Savoirs<\/strong>, committed to sharing knowledge with the aim of \u201c<em>crossing arts and sciences to build the future together<\/em>\u201d, has joined forces with these&nbsp;actors, under a partnership agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It takes part in the conception of the <strong>research-action-creation<\/strong> project and supports its implementation through to its valorization. In particular, it contributes to opening up the project to <strong>local <\/strong>players and to the city&#8217;s priority districts, with which it already works on a daily basis, with the aim of creating territorial synergies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-nomargin\">The launch of the citizen surveys took place at the Quai des Savoirs on October 12, 2024 from 11am to 6pm. <strong>scientists <\/strong>to carry out projects set to <strong>transform territories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A member of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mne-bordeauxaquitaine.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maison de la Nature et de l&#8217;Environnement<\/a><\/strong> in Bordeaux, the Collectif is co-directed by Ma\u00ebliss Le Bricon and Lo\u00efc Chabrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The board of the 1901 association is headed by Gilles Garcia and Julie Chabaud, and includes: S\u00e9v\u00e9rine Lef\u00e8vre, choreographer and dancer; Aline Wiame,
