2025: COMME DES MOUTONS ?

Comme des moutons ?

The crowds exhibition

Did you know that crowds are also an object of scientific study? Come and discover its mechanics and play with our behavior.

Frequently criticized, the crowd has often been perceived as a strange, even unsettling creature. The exhibition Comme des moutons ? unveils its mechanisms and mysteries. It aims to deconstruct the negative image too often associated with crowds. For the first time in a cultural and scientific exhibition, this phenomenon is approached from a contemporary angle, with humor and originality. It takes visitors to the heart of the unconscious mechanics of human crowds, questioning our habits and behavior. We are the crowd, but are we really like sheep?

Immersive exhibition on fires and megafires

Taming fire, understanding it, fighting fires… These are just some of the topics explored by this exhibition, designed and presented in 2018 at the Cité des Sciences in Paris. For its presentation in Toulouse, the Quai des Savoirs decided to expand on it with the creation of an immersive multimedia show on the latest developments in mega-fires, the impressive forest fires that destroy thousands of hectares across the planet every year.

Today, fire remains as terrifying and untamable as ever when it escapes our control. This phenomenon has been amplified since our planet entered the era of mega-fires.

2022: ESPRIT CRITIQUE

Don’t be mistaken!

Between the constant and absolute doubt of the conspiracy theorist and the pure naivety of the innocent, how can we see clearly, unmask preconceived ideas, and verify information? Sharpening our critical thinking means becoming aware of what can make us vulnerable: our prejudices, our habits of thought, our emotions, and sometimes our unjustified mistrust. It also means, at times, admitting that we don’t know… In short, it means learning to adjust our level of trust. To better understand the world in which we live, it is more essential than ever to be aware of the cognitive biases that surround us, to know how information circulates, is highlighted or hidden.

That is the whole purpose of this exhibition, which aims to test your critical thinking skills, equip you with a number of tools and reflexes that can be used on a daily basis, help you discover the main cognitive biases we face every day so you can better avoid them, understand the contributions of the scientific approach to these phenomena and, last but not least, restore your self-confidence!

2021: DE L’AMOUR

Affiche de l'exposition De l'amour

Beware of love at first sight!

De l’amour explores this mysterious feeling and gives artists and scientists a voice to embrace the realms of love.

From desire to attachment, through proofs of love and love on the Internet… Is there a science of love?
The exhibition, produced and presented by the Palais de la découverte, reveals what lies behind this universal feeling. What are the different forms of attachment? What happens in our brains when we fall in love? How is sexuality formed? What is love?
Without taboos, De l’amour takes us on a whirlwind tour of knowledge and attempts to unravel the mystery of the different forms of love.

Artistic creations on the art of love, projections on the mechanisms of the brain during lovemaking, mini role-playing games, activities on sexual orientation and gender identity, without overlooking the issue of consent. De l’amour inspires, surprises, disrupts, and questions.
